The Houston-based Integration is a full-service consulting and solutions provider focusing on SAP technology and certified products for the energy and utility sectors. Cognizant Technology Services, a Nasdaq-listed company, announced on Wednesday that it had agreed to acquire Integration.

After the acquisition, which is anticipated to finalize by the end of 2022, Cognizant will increase its workforce by about 350 people in North America and India. Financial information is awaited.

With solutions spanning four domains aligned to crucial market needs—customer experience, billing, and advanced metering infrastructure; managed services; data science and analytics; and finance & asset performance management—Utegration serves over 50 North American clients in the energy and utility sector.

In the last three years, Cognizant has acquired a number of companies under the leadership of CEO Brian Humphries. Even while it had a history of aggressive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) up until last year, this year it has adopted a more cautious stance, making just three acquisitions so far.

Cognizant purchased AustinCSI, a digital transformation consulting firm, last week in an effort to increase the scope of the services it can provide to clients in support of its digital initiatives. On November 1, Cognizant and OneSource Virtual, professional services and application management company with offices in Texas, agreed to a deal to augment the company's current finance and HR advisory implementation services with Workday.
