Microsoft Corp acquired Nuance Communications

In April 2021, Microsoft Corporation acquired Nuance Communications. Nuance Communications provides conversational artificial intelligence and cloud based medical and clinical intelligence to healthcare providers. Its solutions are employed by 75 percent of radiologists in U.S. and 77 percent of hospitals within U.S. Its branches in India which are in Pune and Bengaluru employ 8500 people.

Nuance also provides customer engagement solutions, virtual assistants, biometric and digital solutions to the companies globally across all industries. This proficiency will come together with Microsoft's cloud, including Teams, Dynamics 365, and Azure, to develop effective customer engagement and security solutions.

 

This acquisition help both the company Nuance and Microsoft to deliver the revenues to the stakeholders who have supported the organization in this journey. It will double the Microsoft’s Total Addressable Market (TAM) as a healthcare provider.  Mark Benjamin will remain the CEO of Nuance, reporting to Scott Guthrie, who is the Executive Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud at Microsoft.
