Alpha Alternatives raises ₹130 crore

Alpha Alternatives, a multi-asset management platform founded by investment banker Naresh Kothari, has raised 130 crores in equity capital from established investors and a number of prestigious family offices. The AMC has conducted a fundraising event twice in the last two years.

The AMC, which has $5,500 crore in assets under management, intends to use the money to diversify into new markets like fixed income and real estate. At the moment, it deals with structured finance and commodity investments.

According to Naresh Kothari, managing partner of Alpha Alternatives, "We will use our funds to strengthen our leadership in absolute return and commodities, scale up our credit and quant investing as well as our international footprint, and seed emerging asset classes like fixed income and real assets."

According to him, the AMC also intends to expand the 14 partners currently on its roster. Alpha Alternatives had received 110 crores from current investors in its initial fundraising round two years prior. A multi-asset class alternative asset management platform that specializes in absolute return, credit, commodities, value and quant-driven equities, and fixed income, Alpha Alternatives was founded in 2013. The company's investment philosophy is based on risk-return orientation, which produces excellent risk-adjusted performance.
