Nvidia launches RTX 2080 GPUs and RTX 2070 Super

On 02, Apr 2020, Nvidia announced two new mobile graphics cards in the form of the super RTX 2070 and the super RTX 2070. Both of these graphics cards, like their mobile counterparts, are based on Turing architecture, and feature dedicated RT cores.

Intel has launched mobile processors of its 10th Gen H series for content creators and gamers alike. Processors of the Intel 10th Gen H series are designed for powerhouse laptops. CPUs alone, however, do not create a powerhouse machine; graphics cards play an equally important role in the entire setup.

According to Nvidia, the introduction of a new feature called Dynamic Boost, the latest Max- systems will double their power output from previous designs. It automatically transfers power per frame between GPU and CPU, improving the overall performance of the in-game without increasing the power consumption of the machine.

Other advancements in the Max-Q architecture include low-voltage GDDR6 memory, advance Optimus controls, improved voltage regulators, and Super Sampling (DLSS 2.0) Deep Learning. DLSS 2.0 uses AI to improve the performance of a game while optimizing ray tracing and increasing battery life by up to 20%.

The Nvidia RTX 2080 Super packs 3,072 CUDA cores, 8 GB GDDR6 memory, 1080 – 1560 MHz base clock frequency boost, and up to 448 GB / s processing bandwidth. The total power draw for the graphics now ranges from 80 to 150 + Watts. The RTX 2070 Super gets 2,560 CUDA cores while the frequencies of base boost clocks range from 1,155 to 1,380 MHz.

Nvidia has collaborated with OEMs to bring in over 100 new compact, light, and efficient RTX-enabled laptops, all enabled by GeForce graphics cards. The launch of Nvidia also included new RTX 2060-powered laptops starting at just as low as $999 (approx. Rs 76,300). Among others, these will include Asus ROG Strix G15, HP Omen 15, MSI GF65, Lenovo Legion Y540, and Acer Nitro 5.

Nvidia has also announced the latest Intel 10th Gen H processors and RTX Super GPUs powered by ten new RTX Studio laptops. Acer, Gigabyte, MSI, and Razer will offer content creators the ultimate mobile solutions.

The 2020 Razer Blade 15 is now available with Nvidia's RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 Super Max-Q graphics cards coupled with the i7-10875H eight-core processor for Nvidia. Another powerhouse to use Nvidia's Super Graphics is Acer's Triton 500 laptop, which sports an IPS 300Hz display.

Gigabyte also released three new versions of their gaming laptops for Aorus. New Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake H-series processors appear in the Aorus 17X, 15 G, and 17G. Cpu options for the latest Aorus laptops include Intel Core i7-10875H and Intel Core i9-10980HK, though Nvidia's recent RTX 20 series Super Mobile graphics are included in the GPU choices.
