Hero MotoCorp, HPCL partner to set up EV charging infrastructure

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Hero MotoCorp announced that they had worked together to build a nationwide network of EV charging stations. As part of the effort, the businesses will install charging stations for two-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) all across the nation, accelerating the transition of mass mobility to an electrified future. With the promise of long-term solutions, Hero MotoCorp and HPCL's collaboration exemplifies their efforts to enable a smooth transition of mass transportation towards EVs.

The two businesses will first install charging infrastructure at HPCL's current network of energy stations across the country, with the possibility of later expanding the partnership for more business prospects. In order to create a high-density EV charging station network across the nation, charging stations will be installed in a few significant cities in the first phase before being expanded to other important markets.

The charging network's infrastructure will be developed under the direction of Hero MotoCorp. Each charging station will have a number of smart and fast chargers, as well as DC and AC chargers that are accessible to all-electric vehicles with two wheels. According to the company, a mobile app developed by Hero MotoCorp based on a cashless transaction model will manage the complete user charging experience. Additionally, there will be rapid opportunities to broaden the scope of activities and services due to the robust and excellent HPCL energy station network.
