Apple Inc. has recently updated privacy norms which has made Facebook Inc. grow worried

Apple has recently announced the release of iOS 14.5 which serves as a software update, a move which has left the social media giant Facebook in apprehension. The update comes with a lot of new features like updates to Podcasts, Siri, Apple News, support for the game console controllers and others. But the change good enough to make headlines was new privacy policy change released by Apple Inc., which enables users more control and transparency of apps that want to track their activity for targeted advertising. Facebook Inc. has grown worried about the recent changes in the privacy statements, as it could restrict its very ability to provide target ads to iPhone users.

The privacy changes enable pop-up to show-up whenever an app is opened that wants to access the unique device ID for the advertising companies. That pop-up is prompted to ask whether a customer wants to be tracked and will display why the app wants you to enable such services. For example, an app might show a popup stating that allowing for tracking can provide better ad experience.

Many companies relying on the very notion of online advertising have stated that the new privacy changes by the Apple Inc. can reduce the profitability and effectiveness of targeted ads. Facebook Inc. has initiated a campaign against the new privacy changes and the company is expected to lose some revenue as a result of it. However, the amount of losses pertaining to this change is not measurable at the time.

Apple Inc. stated that the company added other features as its smartphones come with Face Tracking features, which doesn’t work with a mask. Now, customers can leverage Apple Watch to unlock their iPhone while wearing a mask.
