According to a filing with the BSE, "Aequs has executed a strategic partnership agreement for the supply of raw materials by Hindalco Industries Ltd (Hindalco), including billets and extrusions, through its manufacturing units and/or its subsidiary, Hindalco Almex Aerospace Ltd (HAAL), to be ultimately consumed by commercial aerospace OEMs. Original equipment manufacturers are referred to as OEMs.
The amount of raw materials to be supplied to Aequs under the agreement is "miniscule" given the scale of Hindalco, it claimed.
In addition, given the relevant industry standards, this business requires lengthy development and qualification cycles, it added. Aluminum and copper are two of the commodities produced by Hindalco Industries, a USD 26 billion metals powerhouse.
