Tata Communications officially opened its dedicated private 5G global center of excellence in Pune, Maharashtra which will serve as a secure indoor facility for testing and conducting industry use case trials.

According to Tata Communications, it will be able to demonstrate private 5G use cases like automated quality inspection of equipment using video and image analytics, inventory management and asset tracking, warehouse theft detection, AR/VR-based remote worker collaboration, and video-powered retail purchase across the automotive, metals and mining, airports and seaports, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare sectors.

The solutions are being put through rigorous testing and monitoring to ensure stable connectivity throughout the test period as well as interoperability tests to evaluate how well the company's private network works with various devices.

A number of Internet of Things (IoT) application cases, including linked workers, smart utility meters for water, gas, and electricity, asset tracking, and temperature and humidity sensors, have been demonstrated at Tata Communications' two centers of excellence in Delhi and Mumbai.
