Amazon has closed its third operation in India in a week, this time its B2B distribution venture Amazon Distribution. This comes after the business announced the closure of Amazon Academy, its edtech arm, and Amazon Food, its food delivery service.

Amazon Distribution was set up in three cities in Karnataka — Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Hubballi — to distribute commodities such as food and stationery to local Kirana businesses.

According to an Amazon spokeswoman, Amazon Distribution is being shut down as part of the annual operations planning review process.

"As part of the yearly operations planning review process, the business has decided to cease Amazon Distribution, the wholesale e-commerce website for small neighborhood retailers in Bengaluru, Mysore, and Hubli," according to a spokeswoman.

According to the statement, the initiative will be phased down "to care for current customers and partners, and we are assisting our affected staff during this transition."

According to the statement, the firm constantly examines the development and potential of goods and services to provide customer value and makes improvements based on such evaluations.

Amazon stated it is still dedicated to the Indian market and would continue to invest in food, smartphones and consumer electronics, fashion and beauty, and B2B solutions like Amazon Business. Amazon Business is a B2B marketplace where third-party merchants sell only to business clients that is still in existence.

On November 24, it announced the closure of its edtech division, and on November 25, it announced the closing of its food delivery division.
