Ola and Siemens to build India’s Most Advance EV Hub at Tamil Nadu for Rs2400 crore

Last month Ola signed the deal with Tamil Nadu government of Rs2400 crore to setup its first manufacturing unit in India. The unit will create more than 10,000 jobs for the people utilizing the sources and boosting the economy of the state.

On 20, January, Ola and Siemens joined hands to build world’s largest electronic hub at Tamil Nadu for Rs2400 crore. This will be the world’s largest and advanced electronic vehicle manufacturing unit for which will setup in the southern coastal line of India.

Last month Ola signed the deal with Tamil Nadu government of Rs2400 crore to setup its first manufacturing unit in India. The unit will create more than 10,000 jobs for the people utilizing the sources and boosting the economy of the state.

The manufacturing hub in the Southern State will be the world's largest scooter manufacturing facility, initially with an annual capacity of 2 million units. The facility will serve as a global manufacturing hub for Ola's customers in India, as well as key markets across Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America and Australia and New Zealand.

The manufacturing setup will be based on Indiustry4.0 concept, around 5000 robots will be deployed at various operations unit. In the signed deal, the company said, “They will utilize Siemens integrated Digital Twin design and manufacturing solutions to digitalize and validate product and production ahead of actual operations”.

Commenting on the partnership, Bhavish Aggarwal, chairman and group CEO, Ola, said, "This will be our global hub and will set a benchmark in quality, scale and efficiency, demonstrating India’s capability to build world class cutting edge products. We look forward to bringing this factory online in the coming months and putting our products in the hands of customers."

The manufacturing unit will manufacture Ola’s two wheeler electric scooter vehicle, It will have many features ranging from a unique design and removable banana battery concept which will be easy to carry and can be charged anywhere. The artificial intelligence software will be user friendly which will connect with the customer owing the electric vehicle which will elevate the customer experience.

India is marching towards electric industrialization as many big players like Tesla and Siemens are investing money and helping setting up units.
