AT&T & Google Cloud Team Up to Allow Enterprise Computing Solutions at Network Edge 5G
Current AT&T and Google Cloud technologies help solve real business problems by taking Google Cloud to the AT&T edge
On March 05, 2020, Google Cloud and AT&T announced a partnership to help businesses leverage the innovations and capabilities of Google Cloud using AT&T network access at the edge, such as 5G. In addition, AT&T and Google Cloud plan to offer a range of 5G edge computing solutions that combine AT&T's network, Google Cloud's leading technology, and cutting-edge computing with helping businesses solve real business issues.
Both edge computing systems will be operated by the network of AT&T and will be using the core features of Google Cloud in Kubernetes, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Data, and Analytics, as well as other leading global footprint technologies. By taking Google Cloud computing and technologies to the forefront, companies can shift technology from centralized locations to those edges and run applications closer to end-users, reducing latency, optimizing operations, improving protection, and providing compelling, creative end-user experiences.
Mr. Thomas Kurian, the CEO, Google Cloud, said, "We are pleased to partner with AT&T, a leading 5G provider, to help companies and industry leverage 5G's potential. Our co-innovation with AT&T aims to provide a multitude of 5G and Edge Computing solutions to tackle a range of uses, generating real business value in the retail, manufacturing, gaming, and more industries. We are strongly committed to helping companies achieve meaningful business results by partnering with AT&T on 5G."
Mr. Mo Katibeh, EVP and CMO, AT&T Business, said, "We are partnering with Google Cloud to develop cloud services for the next generation. Combining the network edge of AT&T, like 5G, with edge computing technologies from Google Cloud, will unlock the true potential of the cloud. This work brings us closer to a reality where cloud and cutting edge technology give businesses the gears to create a whole new world of customer experiences."
Such cutting edge computing technologies will cover a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, transportation, 5G local business, and gaming. Google Cloud and AT&T are moving beyond the abstract and solving real-world market challenges and opportunities by identifying and implementing these technologies for enterprise customers.
In addition to developing new technologies, Google Cloud and AT&T will work together to allow independent software suppliers, service providers, developers, and other technology companies to use Google Cloud, the AT&T Network Edge, and their capabilities to build new solutions.
