Pune start-up develops technology for coronavirus killing in hospitals and houses

JClean Weather Technologies, a Pune's Scitech Park incubatee company, has developed a new technology for the disinfection of closed spaces and rooms. The technology, called Scitech Airon, was established under the program Nidhi Prayas initiated by the Science and Technology Department (DST). This decreases the viral load of a closed space within an hour by 99.7 %, depending on the size of the room.

The machine will be used to clean spaces used by patients with coronavirus, ensuring that the virus is not detected by physicians, nurses and other care staff in quarantine facilities. The technology also increases the resistance of the body to external influences within 20-30 days.

Several international laboratories tested the Airon in closed spaces, such as homes, hospitals, classrooms, fields, factories, etc. It can kill a number of viruses, bacteria, and fungal infections, and can disinfect a room from several allergens. It also decomposes contaminants, such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and volatile organic gaseous compounds.

The Scitech ioniser machine generates negative charged ions that react chemically with the proteins on the outer walls of these microorganisms and other allergens, rendering them inert and harmless.

JClean has received DST Rs 1 crore for the manufacturing and scaling of the drug. In a few hospitals across Maharashtra 1,000 units will be available for installation soon.
