Indigo Launches Its First Credit Card

India's largest airline IndiGo unveiled a co-branded Ka-Ching credit card on 25 February 2020 in collaboration with HDFC Bank and MasterCard. The credit cards are available in two variants, the standard ' 6E Rewards ' and the ' 6E Rewards XL ' premium card.

Willy Boulter, IndiGo Chief Commercial Officer, spoke on the sideline of the launch that the annual membership fee for '6E Rewards' would be Rs 750 while ' 6E Rewards XL ' will be Rs 3,000. On activating the card, 6E Rewards, and 6E Rewards XL, customers will receive complimentary air tickets worth Rs 1,500 and Rs3,000, respectively.

Upon activation of 6E Reward XL, the users will earn a complimentary flight ticket worth Rs 3000 and get 6E Prime amenities such as prior check-in, a free meal, and seat selection. Users will receive 6E Rewards of 5 percent upon IndiGo transactions. On the other hand, users will get a complimentary ticket of Rs 15,000 on the activation of 6E Rewards. Passengers will be provided 6E Prime Add-on facilities such as seat selection, previous check-in, and a free meal. Users will receive 2.5 percent 6E Rewards on IndiGo transactions. Parag Rao, Country Head of Payment Solutions and Advertising at HDFC Bank, said that at the launch that the InterGlobe Aviation Ltd-operated IndiGo and HDFC Bank are targeting 1 million cards in three years.

The credit card co-branded provides incentives such as airport priority check-in, lounge access, reduced convenience fees, and exemptions from fuel charges. Besides, IndiGo credit card users will have access to priority check-in for lucrative benefits, a complimentary breakfast, seat selection, access to the exclusive lounge, golfing opportunities at some of India's top golf courses, and complementary medical expert opinions from experts.

Willy Boulter, IndiGo's Chief Commercial Officer, said that the company always tries to provide a fun and trouble-free experience to the customers when they're flying IndiGo. Ka-ching launch confirms that commitment. The company is delighted to treat the customers with 6E reward points that can be exchanged for IndiGo flight tickets on flight bookings, shopping, entertainment, and other purchases. Its mission is to provide customers with the best service. This faith also emanates from the HDFC Bank and Mastercard partners, which have a broad reach that will complement and expand IndiGo's network within the country, while offering unique experiences to the customers.

IndiGo's co-branded card differs from other airline loyalty programs such as JetPrivilege and Club Vistara since the points will only be received with the card and will not be connected to an airline account like others.
