On 3rd March 2021, German Chemical firm, Rudolf launched the new bionic-finish eco textile finishes. The new finishes are fluorine-free and water repellent for ultimate performance. BIONIC-FINISH ECO portfolio consists of unique non-halogenated, APEO-free, fluorine-free formulations. It is designed to work with different materials in different applications and industries. This portfolio is based on the products derived from Rudolf’s patented dendrimer technology.
The idea of Dendrimer technology was derived from mother nature in 2003. Dendrimers are molecules made of multi-functional branches that interact among themselves. Dendrimers co-crystallize, and self-organize into highly ordered, non-fluorinated, multi-component systems. Although the idea is derived from mother nature, dendrimers are man-made nanoscale compounds with unique properties. Constructed by successive addition of generations (layers of branching molecules), Dendrimers have found application in chemical, textile, life science, pharmaceuticals, and material applications.

For textile finishing, portfolio provides different solutions based on the requirements. It including water repellent property, increased softness and retention of pile, home-laundering resistance, enhanced flame retardant properties & dry cleaning properties, resistance to high laundering temperatures, and many other features. Products of bionic-finish eco are suitable for both sportswear and outdoor applications. It is ZDHC chemical gateway certified and compliant with most RSLs, and is also bluesign approved.
