Halliburton announces partnership with Microsoft and Accenture to advance in digital technologies

Halliburton, Microsoft Corp., and Accenture on 17th July announced that they had signed a five-year strategic agreement to advance Microsoft Azure's digital capabilities for Halliburton.

The agreement will complete Halliburton 's transition to cloud-based digital services and improve its consumer offerings by Improving real-time Mobile Operations Platforms, Improving analytical capacity using machine learning and artificial intelligence with the Halliburton Data Lake, Accelerating the introduction of new technologies and software, including compliance with SOC2 for overall device reliability and safety at Halliburton.

According to Jeff Miller, Halliburton Chairman, President & CEO, the strategic agreement with Microsoft and Accenture represents a significant phase in our adoption of emerging technologies and applications to improve our digital capabilities, drive increased business efficiency and minimize capital spending. Halliburton is excited about the advantages of this partnership that our customers and employees will know, and the potential to further optimize our open architecture approach to software delivery.

According to Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Business for Microsoft, moving into the cloud helps companies build market-shaping consumer experiences and achieve meaningful business results. Microsoft will use the cloud power through this partnership with Halliburton and Accenture to unlock digital capabilities that provide value for Halliburton and its customers.

The agreement also allows all physical data centers in Halliburton to be moved to Azure, which provides enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure globally and offers sustainability benefits. Accenture will work closely with Microsoft to facilitate the transfer of Halliburton's digital technologies and business-critical software to Azure, following their Avanade joint venture. Accenture will leverage its robust cloud migration platform, which integrates advanced expertise with proprietary resources, processes, and automation to accelerate data center migration at Halliburton and provide additional transformation opportunities.
