Infosys and IBM Align on IBM Public Cloud to help companies drive digital transformation

Infosys is a worldwide leader in digital services & consulting in the next generation. IBM, on 2 March 2020, announced a strategic partnership to help businesses accelerate their digital transformation journey across the IBM public cloud.

The partnership will allow businesses like those in highly regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, and healthcare to migrate, modernize and transform their company workloads and applications by tapping into the IBM public cloud's security, open innovation, and company capabilities.

Infosys will also be giving its clients access to Red Hat's portfolio of open source services on the IBM public cloud as part of the partnership. This will provide enormous scope, tools, and skills for companies to accelerate the effects of their cloud-driven digital transformation.

According to Ravi Kumar S, President, Infosys, "Enterprises cannot thrive in digital transformation without leveraging the cloud-whether it's transforming processes, expanding into new markets, introducing new goods, automating operations or improving customer experience, the cloud is the real enabler for digital transformation. Infosys will join the new IBM Public Cloud Ecosystem as the first Global System Integrator to help carry IBM public cloud services to customers through service providers. As part of the project, Infosys will be able to apply IBM technical expertise to assist customers in switching to the IBM public cloud. IBM will partner with Infosys and its customers to speed up activities such as concept proofing, running cloud pilots, staffing customer innovation centers, and other processes to deliver value rapidly and securely.

Through this partnership, cloud operating Infosys employees will engage in training and become IBM public cloud certified. They will be able to incorporate public cloud solutions developed by IBM for financial services to help clients in the financial services industry resolve their need for regulatory enforcement, protection, and resilience. Infosys can also offer its customers services through IBM's cloud-native and open technologies, including AI, blockchain, analytics, and more. Through using these services, businesses will be able to automate, modernize, and simplify their company workloads and applications to further drive their digital transformation in the public cloud.

The IBM public cloud is equipped with its security leadership, enterprise-grade capabilities, and support for open source technologies, like RedHat OpenShift, to expand the hybrid cloud strategies for the most complex workloads of companies. This also helps to provide protective and compensatory controls for regulatory workloads, support for multi-architecture, and effective and automated protection, leveraging high standards of encryption.

Infosys will leverage its colossal experience, cloud capabilities, and global reach to help clients migrate, modernize and transform workloads & solutions on IBM public cloud including application modernization (VMware Cloud Infrastructure & Red Hat OpenShift), mainframe transformation on public cloud, SAP HANA running on the IBM Power Systems technology, IBM QRadar security analytics, e-commerce and a variety of Infosys-led Industry Solutions. Infosys strategies to invest in a dedicated IBM global cloud practice where the employees would be thoroughly trained and certified on the IBM public cloud.
