GE HealthCare Announces its Initial Acquisition as a Standalone Business

A deal was made for GE HealthCare to purchase IMACTIS, a French business that develops CT interventional guided technology. The transaction is the first acquisition for the brand-new company. GE finished spinning off its healthcare division. Although the transaction's financial specifics were not made public, GE HealthCare stated that it intended to finance the acquisition with cash on hand.Stereotactic needle guidance is offered by the IMACTIS CT-Navigation system, enabling advance planning and ongoing oversight during minimally invasive treatments. The system has acquired FDA 510(k) approval and is authorized under the Medical Devices Regulation of the European Union. Though GE intends to expand the system with its bigger image guided therapy (IGT) business, the technology is now concentrated on CT images.

By boosting procedural accuracy, the IMACTIS CT-Navigation system is intended to enhance workflow for interventional radiologists and hospitals while assisting in lowering procedure time and radiation exposure for patients and medical professionals. By lowering variability for both basic and complex procedures and enhancing reproducibility, it is a new navigation solution for image-guided percutaneous treatments that seeks to improve patient outcomes.Dr. Taha Kass-Hout, formerly of Amazon Web Services, was named the first chief technology officer of GE HealthCare after the business completed its spinoff.
