The Coca-Cola Company confirms Microsoft's strategic partnership to accelerate global engagement and experience

On 27th April 2020, the Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: "KO") announced a five-year partnership agreement with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: "MSFT") to standardize its business processes on Microsoft's cloud and deliver rich new digital services that will provide creative ways to modernize the way the company communicates with staff and customers.

With this arrangement, the businesses will use Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 capabilities. These technologies can help the Coca-Cola Company gain new insights from enterprise-wide data, allow a 360-degree view of the organization and provide enhanced customer and employee experience.

"Innovation and development are key pillars of our success at The Coca-Cola Company," said Barry Simpson, the Coca-Cola Company's senior vice president and chief information and integrated services officer. "This partnership with Microsoft helps them to make a big move by merging previously incompatible and broken processes to improve employee experience. These platforms allow us to provide appropriate, customized experiences.

Coca-Cola is a pioneer in its industry and a forward-thinking leader, "said Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President, Microsoft, Worldwide Commercial Business. "The company is taking a step forward with its digital innovation, leveraging Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 and Azure to better connect people and opportunities through collaboration breakthroughs and effective knowledge management that will fuel continued business growth over the next decade."

Building on the aim of providing workers with a networked way to access information and support, the organization has evolved beyond a chat interface and developed an app-based persuasive and interactive platform accessible on mobile devices for workers. Dynamics 365 Customer Support, the Power Platform and Microsoft Teams are now being distributed by the Coca-Cola Business to all its staff, improving productivity and improved security through Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud services.

When deployed, new analytics and real-time dashboards powered by Dynamics 365 AI would allow call center managers to track performance metrics for overall employee satisfaction scores and to benefit from real-time analytics into which call topics drive scores. Such investments will also allow The Coca-Cola Company to access the latest applications and growing technologies in the Dynamics 365 portfolio that provide a true 360-degree view of customers and companies, unify processes and provide forward-looking intelligence, enabling employees to proactively drive decisions and actions.

Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams are now being rolled out worldwide by the Coca-Cola Group, equipping workers with a common platform to communicate and collaborate through chat, call, meetings and documents. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft's distributed technologies are being leveraged by The Coca-Cola Company to meet increased demand from a predominantly remote work force.

Such innovations allow The Coca-Cola Company to host several internal meetings on a global, regional and local scale, and with global shelter-in-place mandates, on April 21, 2020, the company held a quarterly virtual earnings townhall meeting for employees using Microsoft 365 Live Events, allowing live and dema-style streaming video presentations for wide audiences.
